According to the Trumpington Local History Group website, the Gilmerton Court flats were built on the site of two houses: Gilmerton House, built in 1888, and The Beeches, known to have been built by 1901.

Both houses were converted to flats in 1948 and then later demolished to make way for Gilmerton Court.
